Saalbach Hinterglemm started experimenting with solutions for snow guarantee as early as the 1980s, regardless of whether the climate change will have the predicted effects or not. These experiments were always focused on ecological sensible snow production.

Here are a few interesting facts:

• More than 900 snow blowers in the ski arena
• 120 individuals are responsible for snow-making and slope grooming
• All main slopes are equipped for snow-making technology
• Austrian law only allows the use of the natural elements air and water without artificial additives
• The perfect temperature is -4 degrees Celsius; above this temperature the snow technology is not used
• 11 reservoirs in the ski arena
