Rare Wines - The Wine Gsellmann

This is an individual red wine full of character made from the autochthonous vine variations Blaufränkisch (95%) and St. Laurent (5%).

Individual and full of character

The special feature of these vines is their age (80 years), which means the balance of this wine is unmatched. The fully ripe, healthy grapes are picked by hand. The traditional mash fermentation with punching down of the pomace and subsequent maceration takes 50 days. The biological acid reduction takes place in small oak barrels. The wine ripens in these barrels for 40 months. Due to numerous moves, the wine undergoes a natural purification. "After being blended to a Cuvée, the wine ripens for another 4 months in a large wooden barrel."
