Let’s go vertical in Saalbach!

Saalbach and the mountains are a dyad as ever, set in stone like a marriage, with tradition and a drive for modernity. The alpine summits are the playground for active mountain air-addicts. Whether you choose long hikes , comfy walks high above the ground or sporty trail running sessions. In quest of the special moment, the unique, is the reason for our alpine love.

Of course we take our sport- & vital coach Gunter to the mountains. Driven by the joy of motion and discovery – and the relaxation afterwards.

Gunter is the mentor of the local trail running scene. In the winter times he climbs the mountain per skis and in Summer he choose running shoes for his adventures uphill. At the top of the mountains is his goal – only at the top!

Gunter organizes and is responsible for the 2. Saalbacher Berg & Trailruns, an Event with 3 different distances. The Schattberg King & Queen is listed as a vertical sprint. A short distance race over 6 km pure uphill running and finish line on 2.000 m above sea-level. There is the appropriate surrounding for the coronation of the queen & king – a majestic moment  - for sure.

You like endurance competitions, aren’t averse to doing “ultras”? We have the ideal event for you: the “Endurance Trail”. 85 km of alpine trail running in a beautiful scenery spiced with 6.000 meters in altitude. It sounds crazy – it is crazy! This race is also the official Austrian championship of the Ultra-Trail Runner.
The Trailmaster – the third variation – is a race over 35 km and the athletes enjoy up- and downhills over 2.800 meters in altitude. That’s also impressive – maybe the more human solution for sportive runners.

If you want to bring your body in perfect shape for the competitions, the ideal preparation is on-site. Preferably with the expert himself – Gunter. Nobody knows the trails in Saalbach better and nobody is capable to guide a group to the secret spots of the area.

The region of Saalbach is the perfect trail running location also after these competitions. It’s like the Indian Summer of the Alps – convince yourself of this fact!

The result consists of two camps.

1. Camp: Thursday, 25th till Sunday, 28th of August 2016
              (perfect for the build up for the Saalbacher trail runs)

2. Camp:  Thursday, 22th till Sunday, 25th of September 2016

Included services per person:

  •  3 nights with all eva, amenities
  • tempting breakfast buffet with lot's of good morning delights
  •  vital seduction in the afternoon
  • 4-5 course evening dinner with salad buffet or theme buffet
  • 1 Trailrunning Fit Massage (30 minutes)

THURSDAY (arrival)

  • From 03:00 pm individual arrival
  • 07:00 pm get together with buffet Mediterranean in the eva,VILLAGE


  • From 07:30 am breakfast and meeting
  • Information for the 1 trail run with the tour topographies and equipment check
  • 09:00 am start of the 1. trail runs:
  • Panorama Trail:  900 HM +/- | 17,5 km | approx. 3h
  • Peak Upgrade:  1.300 HM +/- | 19 km | approx. 3 ¾h Running speed GA1-2 (basics stamina 1-2) Depending on the group level
  • Afternoon: time for you - for example in the eva, Spa
  • Meeting, training and dietetics tour inform meeting for the next day
  • 07:00 pm Dinner in the eva,VILLAGE

  • Marathon trail

What do you need for the trail run camp:

  • Top shoes | demountable sticks | small back pack | first aid set | survive blanket (aluminium ) | rain jacket and trouser with water from min. 10.000ml
  • Beanie or cap | gloves (depending on the weather)
  • Long or short trousers and shirt | headlamp (optional)
  • Min. 1,0L water and muesli bar, gel | GPS watch with pulse (optional)
  • Guided Tours - common running training - sharing knowledge and fun
